Rent-A-Thug #171 – King of the Streets part 1

Sally Johnston and News 5 are both remnants from a superhero comic I used to draw for my own enjoyment. Both Sally and the News 5 studios have gotten a visual overhaul since then. The first few pages of this story weren’t originally part of it, but I thought they made a nice framing device for the main story so I tweaked them a little bit to fit. The rounded panels that don’t extend to the end of the page were inspired by the television sequences from Frank Miller’s “Dark Knight Returns”. If you haven’t read it, you should, because it’s awesome. There’s no part of Batman being a grumpy old coot that isn’t awesome.

As I’ve mentioned several times now, this story keeps getting longer. I’m still not finished the script, but it’s looking like it’ll provide at least two months worth of updates. 24 pages and counting.

Thanks for reading, see you Friday!
