Rent-A-Thug #132 – Rules For Criminal Success #87

So I decided to go with Rules For Criminal Success strips for this week, almost entirely because I wanted to post this one. Soldier Boy makes his most impressive appearance so far, as he’s traded in his bolt-action rifle for an ARC-5. The ARC-5 is, like a lot of weapons, referenced from a real weapon and then given a new name. In this case it’s an M4 SOPMOD, which if you’ve played Call of Duty 4 you’re probably aware of since it’s your primary weapon in the single-player campaign. It was a lot of fun to draw, but took a while. The shot of Soldier Boy looking through the scope in the last panel turned out to be much easier to draw than I had anticipated.

Rent-A-Thug is on Facebook now. You should check it out. I’ve always thought that it would be really funny if Facebook had a gambling application called Facebookie. Too bad that whole online gambling thing is illegal. I might use that concept in future Rent-A-Thug comics, come to think of it.

It occurred to me that updating on Wednesday could prove to be problematic, since I’ll be home for all of an hour in a row. I might be able to update from work, otherwise it’ll probably just be really late in the day. Worst case scenario, I’ll update on Thursday, but chances are it won’t come to that.

Thanks for reading, see you Wednesday.
