Despite being written into the script for what was originally going to be the first issue of Rent-A-Thug back in 2005 this is the first appearance of Monkey Brains. He’s a monkey, a mad scientist, and his brain sticks out of his head. “But wouldn’t that kill him, or at least be extremely painful?” you ask. I dunno, I just draw things. What do I look like, some kind of guy who knows stuff?

Also, Dirk the Head pushes a big red button and blows up a chunk the planet. Why people leave big red buttons that can do those sorts of things just lying around for stupid people to press is a conundrum that ranks up there with Monkey Brains’ brain sticking out of his head.

Rent-A-Thug: First Offence, the first Rent-A-Thug print book went off to the printer on Wednesday! Hooray! I’m excited to see the proofs. Relatedly, the ‘Caine & Able short story appeared in Tales From The Harbor Volume 3, which was released yesterday by the fine folks at Happy Harbor Comics. You should check it out, it’s a whopper of a tome with over 300 pages of comics, prose, and illustrations.
