I think this is the first appearance of The Arachnoid, back when he was a more blatant Spider-Man parody. His current design loses the mask and messes with his proportions to make him look more grotesque. Most of the grotesque comes from the decision to give him a big ol’ hairy spider head instead of a normal one. Next to that his otherwise bizarre anatomy is pretty inconsequential on the grotesque-o-meter.

I’m just getting started on a script for a short story about a space cop and having a great time doing designs for it. I’ll probably add it to the site if I can figure out how to add extra archives (which is easier said than done, evidently). If not I’ll probably stick it up on Drunk Duck and just link to it from the sidebar.
