This strip is the first appearance of Soldier Boy. Early on I came up with the idea that Rent-A-Thug had branch offices all over the world and that a secondary comic called Rent-A-Thug: International could focus on those characters. Aside from Soldier Boy’s occassional appearances in Rules For Criminal Success I haven’t done a whole lot with him or his international compatriots, but hopefully I’ll come up with something that works for them at some point.

Fun fact: there exists such a thing as “environmental history”. I didn’t know that until I inadvertantly ended up in a class about it. Now I’m writing a paper about it. It’s incredibly boring.
