I finished inking this one about fifteen minutes ago. WHEEEE. Actually it probably would have been done a few hours ago, but I took on a last minute-ish illustration assignment for tomorrow’s issue of The Gateway. It was a commentary in the Sports section about the Oilers not living up to their potential this season, so I couldn’t resist. I’ll post it in the Illustration section tomorrow.

There was some dialogue on this page in the script, but when I sat down to draw the page I re-read the script and realized that none of it was necessary and none of it was funny, so I just cut all of it. The stuff on the posters was drawn when I sat down to do the inks today. Whenever I need a sign joke I tend to just sneak in a Holiday Men reference. Well, the sign in the alley is, anyway. The other one’s just a stripper joke, because those are always classy.

I think Croc Head and the Wombat may be involved in my favourite “smashing through a wall” shot that I’ve drawn. I’m not sure why but I like this one a lot more than most of the other ones that I can remember.
