Rent-A-Thug #182 – King of the Streets part 12
This page features a pair of attempts at dynamic, complex viewing angles. I think they’re decent enough, but they didn’t turn out nearly as well as I had hoped. Chuck D sliding through the COPS’ legs is really close to what I had pictured in my head. Johnny Mushface jumping over the COPS had to be overhauled pretty significantly, since the shot I wanted to do was was pretty much impossible for me to draw. Turns out a worm’s-eye-view of a stumpy round guy jumping over a gigantic, broad robot really only works in theory. The third panel works well enough, although making sure it was clear that the COPS was spinning at its hips to smack Mushface took some doing. It’s not often that somebody smashing through a wall is one of the easiest things on a page to draw.
I finished all of this week’s updates over the weekend. Which is good, because now I have time to finish my piece for Pure Spec’s art show. And get fliers printed up for the Pure Spec grab bag. And get a second run of Hockeypocalypse prints made, because the first run has almost entirely sold out.
I’ve added some new links over the last few days. I thought I’d already linked to Rudi Gunther’s long-running sci-fi comedy Deathworld, but apparently only in blog posts and not in the actual links section. I also added CogNoman’s new webcomic, CogNomania!, which features daily doses of his surrealist comic art and bizarre thought processes. The third new addition is Red Right Hand’s Bloody & Brutal Webcomic Reviews. His review blog is relatively new, but I’ve found it to be pretty entertaining so far.
Thanks for reading, see you Wednesday!

Yes! It is true – I have finally entered the Hallowed Halls of the Albertan Webcomic Scene, to take my rightful place at the foot of yourself and Rudi, heh heh. I shall try to make you rickety old oldtimers proud, heh heh.
And good luck at Pure Spec – I can’t make it up to Edmonton on the 18th, but there’s a tiny-small chance I might be able to make it up for the 19th, so maybe I’ll see you there.
Either way – thanks again for the welcome, Sir Thugly! Talk to you later (….most likely when I ask you for help on how to use Comicpress, heh heh).
