Rent-A-Thug #146 – Rules For Criminal Success #64

This rule comes, in part, from playing D&D. I’ve played quite a few smashy characters who contributed about that much to any sort of planning that the party attempted to do. Strategy discussions would typically involve my character suggesting that we hit the bad guys in the face with an axe (or sword, or flail, or whatever he happened to be carrying), then wondering why the discussion didn’t just end with that. I’ve been reading the 4th Edition D&D Player’s Handbook lately in preparation for a campaign and I’m liking it so far, although it’s slightly disappointing that stupid characters aren’t going to be very common (or as stupid). In 4th Ed. it’s pretty much impossible to have a player character with a stat lower than 8, and very likely that they won’t have any stats lower than 10.

Well that’s it from me this week, thanks for reading. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday!
