Rent-A-Thug #144 – Rules For Criminal Success #

There was a huge gap between the time I thought of this one and the time I drew it, which is actually sort of common with the Rules For Criminal Success strips. The dog on the card is a pug, which is the result of my family having two of the goofy-looking little buggers. They’re much easier to draw than normal long-snouted dogs, I find. Drawing the snout in perspective is always a pain. Also, the caption box is crammed up in the corner because I forgot about it completely when I did the pencils for the strip. I realized it before I started inking and had to try to figure out where I could fit it in with a minimum of erasing.

I’ve started playing Gears of War again after picking up the NECA Gears of War action figure boxed set. Apparently not playing it for quite a while made me get better at it somehow, because I managed to blaze through quite a few levels on Insane difficulty in a little over an hour. It’s also getting me pretty excited for Gears 2. Chainsaw duels and using mangled Locust bodies as shields? Yes, please.

Thanks for reading, see you Wednesday!
