Rent-A-Thug #128 – Rules For Criminal Success #101

Lincoln Sullivan makes a rare appearance in this one, mostly because he was the only character I could think of that’s subtle enough to regularly employ a sniper rifle. Most of the other characters are a lot noisier when they kill somebody. It’s based on an M21, I think. I can’t remember and don’t particularly want to look it up. The first panel of this page is the result of me taking what was supposed to be a very simple shot and making it into a very complicated one. All that it needed to do was establish that Lincoln was going to shoot somebody. Which turned into a far-more-intricate-than-necessary park background with some kind of speech going on.

Originally Lincoln’s last line was going to be something along the lines of “what kind of scope is this?”, but then I thought it might be funnier if Lincoln just trusted that the scope was working just fine and assumed that it must be reality that wasn’t working properly. But I’ll leave you to be the judge of that.

I’ve managed to build up a little over two weeks’ worth of buffer strips, so I’ve started working on the next short story, which is slated to appear in Tales From The Harbor Volume 4. It’ll also be appearing alongside Two Crooks, a Croc, and a Fine Pair of Shoes in what was originally scheduled to be the second Rent-A-Thug print comic. Now it looks like it’ll actually be the fourth issue, since ‘Caine & Able ended up turning into the jumping-off point for a much larger story arc that now encompasses the second and third issues.

That’s all from me this week, have a good weekend and thanks for reading!
