Rent-A-Thug #121 – Great Thugs in History part 20

I’m not especially found of this page. It’s not bad, but it’s not as cool as it looked in my head. I liked the idea of Charles fairing decently against a swordsman only to be knocked senseless by a priest whacking him with a book. I purposely called it the Holy Book instead of the Bible because I didn’t want to imply that Christianity was the religion in this world. I haven’t really explored the religion of the Rent-A-Thug world, and even in thinking about the world I haven’t really given a lot of consideration to religion. The only thing I’ve really thought about is whether to just use actual religions or to make up fake ones that mimic them instead. The latter is what I decided on but I haven’t done much with it. And looking at the scripts I’ve been working on for the future there isn’t going to be a lot done with it anytime soon.

Those of you who pay attention to such things might have noticed that this page is being posted much earlier in the day than usual. That’s because I’m going to be rocking out with Rock Band tonight at Happy Harbor Comics Vol. 2. Because they do cool things like host Rock Band nights. Which is great because I’m too cheap to actually buy Rock Band for myself.

This story should be wrapping up in two or three pages’ time, after which will come some more Rules For Criminal Success. I haven’t quite decided whether I want to wrap up the Rules For Criminal Success series before moving onto the next story, which I finished writing last night. It involves crack cocaine, a dinosaur, and robots.

Thanks for reading, see you Friday!
