Rent-A-Thug #86 – Rules For Criminal Success #82

This strip took me the longest time to figure out how to lay it out. I put it off for quite a while because of that. I think it worked fairly well, and suited what is already kind of a weird joke. Apparently Johnny Mushface spends his spare time lurking in alleys with a hammer so that he can bonk cops on the head with it. I’m not sure why I drew him adjusting his tie in the last panel but that panel amuses me quite a bit for inexplicable reasons so I’m glad I included the tie adjustment.

We’re closing in one page 100, and I’m closing in on finishing the book. The front cover is done and the inside front cover is mostly done. Actually I think I’ll go finish it right now.

Thanks for reading, have a good weekend!

That tie adjust is one of the subtle quirks that adds to the charm of the strip. Adding those kinds of nuances to your characters makes them seem more real. Great work. And I love that he’s looking off to the side while he does it.
